1940 Buick 5-Window Business Coupe

Now if you wanted an upscale coupe, Buick had just the car for you! OHV8, the only engine they made, ensured reliability and quiet operation. Notice the turn signals under the gearshift, on the right side of the column. They operated a central fixture in the middle of the trunklid..the left side or the right side lit up to indicate the direction of the turn. Running boards were still prominent, but would soon retract under the bottom edge of the doors. By the way…Buick was fourth in sales in the U.S. from 1938 to 1942!
